Properties: 

Combustible, irritant gas with a strong Ammonia like smell. 

Readily soluble in water and organic solvents.

Ethylamine is more reactive than ammonia. It is manufactured from ethanol or bromoethane and ammonia in a condensation reaction.

Ethylamine Uses and Applications

Applications include as a stabiliser for rubber latex, as a solvent, for textile treatment and to manufacture N-ethylmorpholine, dyes, herbicides and pharmaceuticals.

It can cause chemical burns to the skin and mucous membranes both in the gaseous state and as an aqueous solution.
