Properties:

Colourless and odourless, dense, non combustible, non toxic and chemically stable gas. 

It is an outstandingly good dielectric in transformers and high voltage applications.

Due to the molecule size and density it has also been used as a barrier in glazing to provide sound insulation.

Used for tyre filling to prevent pressure loss and often used in leak detection or prevention applications.
